Happy Wednesday. Rory McIlroy's hometown Holywood Golf Club celebrated his Masters triumph with everything but alcohol thanks to Northern Ireland's strict licensing laws. The tiny club where McIlroy grew up and became "the youngest ever member" erupted into tears and bearhugs when their local hero finally completed the career Grand Slam, despite the bar being forced to close two full hours before the dramatic playoff conclusion. One club official perfectly summarized the historic achievement: "There's only been five players in the history of golf to do this. And for somebody from such a small town in a small country to do this is just absolutely unbelievable." ⬇️

🎙️ The Starter
What is Rory Mcllroy's middle name? |
Last Starter: Only 29% of readers knew that it was Alister Mackenzie who designed Augusta National. Bobby Jones provided the vision, but Mackenzie ultimately designed what is now one of the most famous courses in the world. Sadly, he never got to see it in full tournament form - he died a few months before the first Masters. Partially unrelated, but here’s a hilarious video of Tiger’s caddy, “Fluff,” checking the wind with his cigarette at the 1997 Masters. Alister would’ve been proud. ⬇️

📰 GOLF STORIES
💰 Aberg's $728,000 Triple Bogey: The Most Expensive Collapse in Masters History
Ludvig Aberg's 72nd hole collapse at Augusta National might be the most expensive triple bogey in golf history. The Swedish star went from potential Masters playoff participant to a financial disaster in just four brutal shots. What began with a fairway bunker misfire spiraled into a greenside nightmare that cost Aberg not only his chance at a green jacket but enough money to buy a luxury home in most American cities. The painful financial reality: had he simply parred his final two holes, Aberg would have earned an additional $728,000 on top of his $703,500 seventh-place check. ⬇️

📺 The Revolutionary Way to Watch Golf You Never Knew Existed (Until Now)
The PGA Tour has quietly launched the most revolutionary way to watch golf without actually being there. Their Apple Vision Pro app transforms your living room into prime real estate along TPC Sawgrass' 17th hole or Augusta National's Amen Corner through astonishingly detailed 3D course models captured by drones. While the $3,500 headset price tag might require winning your Masters pool, the technology offers unprecedented immersion—watching balls bounce realistically off greens and roll down fairways while accessing real-time stats and highlights simultaneously. Tour rookies are even using it to scout courses they've never played before arriving at tournaments. ⬇️

🏆 From Golf Villain to Fan Favorite: DeChambeau's Silent Masters Pairing with McIlroy
Bryson DeChambeau nearly missed his Masters final round tee time while signing autographs, then received the silent treatment from Rory McIlroy for all 18 holes. The contrasting approaches revealed golf's most fascinating personality evolution—DeChambeau's transformation from the sport's most polarizing figure to perhaps its most beloved star. Despite McIlroy's cold shoulder, Bryson showed remarkable sportsmanship, admitting "I wanted to cry for him" when Rory's approach found Rae's Creek. While one champion completed his career Grand Slam, the once-ridiculed scientist has become golf's authentic fan favorite, high-fiving his way into hearts with a YouTube empire 1.8 million subscribers strong. ⬇️

P.S. Gambling Picks
Should have gone a perfect 2 for 2 last week if not for the absolutely horrendous showing from Shane Lowry on Sunday, shooting +9. Anyway, we cashed on Spieth, so let's move on to the RBC Heritage. We're going to go with someone who has consistently played well here and knows how to really slow down a round.
Patrick Cantlay Top 10 (+150)
Ludvig Åberg Top 10 (+120)
Throw Åberg in there as well because we can't just watch Patrick Cantlay all weekend.
