Phil Mickelson was asked about potentially captaining the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2027 but doesn't seem interested, despite being in line for the Bethpage job before defecting to LIV Golf. The PGA of America's first choice would likely be Tiger Woods, who turned down the 2025 role, leaving no obvious next-in-line candidate after another likely American defeat.
