⛳️ F****** land!
Happy Monday. Greg Norman's private jet suffered a shattered windscreen during a flight from Los Angeles to Palm Beach, forcing an emergency landing that clearly rattled the 70-year-old golf legend. "F---ing land!" was Norman's understandable reaction when the loud "pop" occurred mid-flight. The LIV Golf CEO surprisingly downplayed the incident as "only the second time in 40 years of private travel," before casually revealing a history of terrifying aviation incidents including "lightning strikes, cabin fires," and even "losing hydraulics after taking off from an aircraft carrier." ⬇️

📰 GOLF STORIES
✝️ A Vatican Golf Course
Pope Leo XIV's Chicago roots have resurrected golf's most ambitious real estate proposal—the nearly century-old attempt to build a Vatican golf course. In 1926, Scottish immigrant Arthur Findlay pitched Vatican officials on a six-hole layout, attempting to sway them with name-drops of Theodore Roosevelt, Buffalo Bill, and John D. Rockefeller, who supposedly "attributes the prolongation of his life entirely to golf." While Cardinals shouting "fore" between sacred ceremonies seems unlikely, with a Chicago native now wearing the papal robes, perhaps the audacious proposal deserves reconsideration. We're preemptively working on our Vatican City Course Guide just in case. ⬇️
Incredibly, Alex Findlay—the father of American golf—once tried to convince the Pope to build a golf course in Vatican City in the 1920s

🎥 Owen Wilson’s “Stick” drops trailer
Owen Wilson's new golf comedy "Stick" just revealed its first trailer, showcasing a surprisingly emotional story beneath the laughs. The Apple TV+ series follows former PGA Tour star Pryce Cahill (Wilson) whose derailed career finds redemption through mentoring a 17-year-old golf prodigy. "That's a theme that people can relate to," Wilson told Golf Digest. "Trying to sort of recapture something and seeing in this kid a vehicle for his dreams that were kind of derailed." Coming from the streaming service behind "Ted Lasso," the June 4th premiere promises the same perfect balance of comedy and heart. ⬇️
His comeback is a long shot.

💀 Living near a golf course linked to Parkinson’s
Living near golf courses might significantly increase your Parkinson's disease risk, according to a shocking new study. Researchers discovered people residing within one mile of golf courses face a 126% higher risk than those living six miles away, with contaminated drinking water supplies appearing to be the primary culprit. The study examined 450 cases across Wisconsin and Minnesota, finding "individuals getting their tap water from groundwater water service areas with a golf course had nearly doubled odds" compared to other water sources. Parkinson's Foundation advisor Dr. Michael Okun warns cases are "exploding," with 11.8 million globally, calling for urgent preventative action. ⬇️
Nice article in Newsweek summarizing what people are saying about 'golf courses and Parkinson's.' This isn't about golf—it's about pesticides, environmental exposures, and preventable risks hiding in plain sight. National medical adviser for the Parkinson's Foundation Dr. Michael
