⛳️ Golf horror stories
Happy Wednesday. A new angle of Jordan Spieth's 2022 Pebble Beach cliff shot reveals it was even more terrifying than originally thought, showing cliff erosion creating a "false edge suspended in air" with uneven footing on a down-cliff lie. The aerial broadcast gave the illusion Spieth had 1-2 feet of stable ground, but fan video shows we nearly lost the three-time major champ that day despite his caddie's pleas not to hit it. The scary Halloween-themed content resurfaces one of golf's most death-defying pars. Don't show Annie Spieth. ⬇️
Are you hitting this shot?! 😭😱

⛳️ Golf horror stories…
Michael Brennan thought he was getting abducted in Rio after his Uber driver started voice-to-texting, screenshotting their route, and sending their destination to someone while driving through the favelas—gang-controlled slums where he'd been warned "you're dead" if you enter. The newly minted PGA Tour winner started texting everyone and sharing his location while his completely unbothered caddie Jeff Kirkpatrick stayed calm. They arrived unscathed at their intended destination. "It was a false alarm, but I thought we were dead." Now the PGA Tour seems easy. ⬇️
What a journey it’s been from @PGATOURamericas to @PGATOUR for Michael Brennan … figuratively and literally🚗‼️
@SmylieKaufman10 had some interesting travel stories from his time on @KornFerryTour, and had to ask for Michael’s best one … boy did he deliver 😂

👀 Grant Horvat didn’t know Jon Gruden
Grant Horvat drew Golf Twitter's wrath at the Internet Invitational when asked if he'd like to be paired with Jon Gruden and responded "I don't know who that is" about the Super Bowl-winning coach with 122 NFL wins and former Monday Night Football analyst. Gruden handled it perfectly, tweeting back a simple "Google me" in classic Shaq fashion. Horvat's lack of ball knowledge proved more offensive than Luke Kwon oversleeping his tee time, with replies roasting the YouTuber for not recognizing one of football's biggest names and current Barstool personalities. ⬇️

🤔 Cam Smith chipped over a bunker
Cam Smith chipped over a bunker with every club in his bag including his putter, channeling the short-game wizardry that won him the 2022 Open Championship when he putted around the Road Hole bunker at St. Andrews. The LIV Golf star missed the green with driver and 7-wood but banked his 3-wood off the lip and somehow flopped his flatstick to a few feet. "Oh my god, it was always the putter," Smith said after the shot. "Don't count out putter from behind a bunker." We certainly won't, Cam. ⬇️
Cameron Smith magic.
A defining clutch moment at the Road Hole @TheOpen.
