Russell Henley just called a penalty on himself that cost him millions, turning a potential par into a bogey when his ball moved "about a dimple" in Friday's second round at the Travelers Championship. The five-time tour winner was the only person who saw it happen—no cameras, no officials, no playing partners—but he knew he had to do the right thing. "You have to be completely certain that it moved, and I was," Henley told CBS's Jim Nantz after shooting a career-best 61 on Saturday. The self-imposed penalty cost Henley the tournament as he lost by exactly one stroke, making his honesty a $1.5 million decision. But Henley had zero regrets for one powerful reason: "It was a good teaching opportunity for my son, who was watching." Sometimes integrity comes with the ultimate price tag. ⬇️

The two-time PGA champion was cruising at even par through 12 holes when disaster struck on the second-easiest hole of the day. After driving out of bounds and nearly hitting a marshal with his club release, Thomas re-teed but found water with his fourth shot. His first chip rolled back down the steep green, then his second chip did the same thing, leaving him lying 7 before finally getting up-and-down for the devastating quad. The meltdown dropped him from T-5 to T-21, costing him serious money and FedEx Cup points while playing partner Scottie Scheffler endured his own birthday disaster with multiple big numbers. ⬇️

Rickie Fowler just delivered the most hilarious reaction to hitting golf's most embarrassing shot, coining a brilliant new term in the process. After shanking his approach shot into the weeds on the first hole at the Travelers Championship, Fowler casually dubbed it a "Spanish fade" while laughing off the disaster. The six-time PGA Tour winner's ability to find humor in hitting the dreaded S-word on his opening hole shows why he remains one of golf's most beloved personalities.
