⛳️ LIV Golf CEO makes bold claim
Presented by:
Happy Wednesday. The behind-the-scenes footage of NBC's broadcast booth during J.J. Spaun's U.S. Open-winning putt is absolutely electric, showing Dan Hicks and Kevin Kisner losing their minds in real time. Hicks' "HOW ABOUT ONE!?" call was an instant classic, but seeing the genuine enthusiasm behind it makes it even better. The best part? Kisner's confident thumbs up when the ball was still 15 feet from the hole, holding his digit aloft like he knew it was destined for the cup. Meanwhile, Brad Faxon and Terry Gannon had to bite their tongues to avoid stepping on the historic call. ⬇️
This is what J.J.'s putt looked like from the broadcast booth.
The call from Dan. The thumbs up from Kis. Truly unreal.

If you’re new here, welcome to Bogey Bois Golf. 5 minutes of golf news that won’t put you to sleep every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.
🔍 Today’s highlights:
👀 LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil just made a bold prediction about the future of professional golf, claiming his league will achieve "a dominant position in global golf"
😢 Rory McIlroy's Masters victory solved one massive problem but created an unexpected new one—"post-success melancholy" that's left him unmotivated and club-slamming through recent majors.
⛳️ Dr. Matt Vogt is having one incredible summer despite missing the cut at his U.S. Open debut (he’s setting course records)
👀 See Your Game Differently
Meet the COOLSHOT 50i GII—the rangefinder changing how golfers see the course. While most rangefinders just give you yardage, Nikon delivers more: slope-adjusted distances, a dual-lock on quake feature to confirm you have ranged the flag, a mounting magnet for quick convenient use, and optics so crisp you’ll think you're looking through a tour pro’s eyes.
For years, rangefinders have been clunky, slow, or just plain inaccurate—kind of like using a ball marker the size of a poker chip. The COOLSHOT 50i GII sets a new standard: lightning-fast reads, ergonomic design, and Nikon’s legendary optics—all in one sleek device.
Whether you're tracking pins on blind shots or dialed in from 220 out, this is the tech you’ll trust under pressure.
The difference isn’t subtle. It’s Nikon. ⬇️
🎙️ The Starter
At the 1998 Players Championship, a player safely landed on TPC Sawgrass’ 17th green—until an animal swooped in, snatched the ball, and dropped it in the water.Which animal caused the chaos? |
Last Starter: 65% of readers knew that it was John Daly who once quit golf mid-round, walked off the course, and immediately entered a local amateur poker tournament - and won it. Have you ever quit mid round because of how bad you were playing? 1000 golfers were surveyed and here’s the results ⬇️
📰 GOLF STORIES
👀 LIV Golf to be the “dominant league”?
LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil just made a bold prediction about the future of professional golf, claiming his league will achieve "a dominant position in global golf" within five years. Speaking on The Rick Shiels Golf Show, O'Neil said LIV will become "the place you go for global golf" while the PGA Tour maintains its stronghold in America. Interestingly, O'Neil revealed he's friends with new PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp—they went to business school together and attend the same church—which could accelerate merger talks between the rival circuits. ⬇️
😢 Rory is having “post success melancholy”
Rory McIlroy's Masters victory solved one massive problem but created an unexpected new one—"post-success melancholy" that's left him unmotivated and club-slamming through recent majors. After 11 years chasing the career Grand Slam, McIlroy finally completed it in April, but instead of feeling liberated, he's struggled with purpose. "I climbed my Everest in April, and I think after you do something like that, you've got to make your way back down, and you've got to look for another mountain to climb," McIlroy admitted. Sports psychologist Dr. Deborah Graham explains this void is common when athletes achieve singular long-term goals without having a replacement ready. ⬇️
Ok, it’s time to talk about Rory McIlroy.
After winning the Masters, everyone thought he’d play with less weight on him. He said so himself.
Since then, he’s been a baby with the media and seemingly is angrier than ever.
What the f is going on?

⛳️ The greatest dentist (golfer) of all time
Dr. Matt Vogt is having one incredible summer despite missing the cut at his U.S. Open debut. The Indianapolis dentist who qualified for Oakmont just tied the course record at Highland Golf and Country Club with a bogey-free 62, firing eight birdies and 10 pars for a flawless round. Vogt became a viral sensation during U.S. Open week with his tearjerking Golf Channel interview about playing two months after losing his father, earning the honor of hitting the opening tee shot at the championship. While he struggled at Oakmont after missing the cut, this course record shows the form that got him there originally. ⬇️
What an amazing interview.
Matthew Vogt, a dentist and former caddie at Oakmont, qualified for the US Open yesterday.
Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words in that moment.
Matthew found them all.
What a cool story.
