+ How Phil Mickelson gambled $1 billion

Happy Sunday! Imagine if your first round of golf ever was during a Major Championship. You don't have to imagine, because that's the story of Maurice Flitcroft. After a mid-life crisis, Flitcroft decided he wanted to play in the 1976 British Open. He faked his Open application to gain entrance to the tournament, where he shot a 121 (the worst score in tournament history). Even with stricter vetting, Flitcroft continued to enter several more Opens using disguises and fake names. Sony Pictures wrote a movie about his life. He's a folk hero, and you can check out the full story here. ⬇️

Last Starter: 90% of readers correctly identified "Insider Trading" as the crime Phil Mickelson was investigated for back in 2014. He settled the lawsuits and agreed to return all the money he had made from insider information on his investment in Dean Foods. This isn't the only time Phil has been in hot water for financial reasons. Billy Walters, one of the most successful gamblers of all time and Phil's gambling partner, wrote a book called "Gambler." In it, he reveals that Phil has gambled more than $1 billion over his career and even attempted to bet $400,000 on the 2012 Ryder Cup (which he participated in). Walters hates Phil and argues that he is the reason Walters went to prison. ⬇️

⭐️ The Worst Rated Course in FL

Josh Mayer, a golf YouTuber, is doing the unthinkable: finding and playing the absolute worst golf courses in America. While everyone else is chasing bucket list tracks, he is hunting down the courses that'll make you appreciate your local muni.

His latest target? Florida's crown jewel of awful golf. One reviewer called it a "miserable cow pasture" with a range that looks like a "B52 bombing range." That's the kind of review that makes Josh's ears perk up.

Mayer plays and then rates the courses based on:

  • Price

  • Customer Service

  • Course Conditions

👟 Reebok’s Back

Bryson DeChambeau is doing what Bryson does best: disrupting the game. Reebok's making a comeback to golf, and they've chosen the human algorithm of sports as their flagship athlete. The deal? Full sponsorship for Crushers GC, including shoes that'll probably help you hit drives approximately nowhere near as far as Bryson.

The highlights:

  • Reebok's first major golf move in a long time

  • Partnership starts March 2025

  • DeChambeau will debut the gear at the Crypto.com Showdown

The real play here isn't just apparel - it's pure, unfiltered Bryson chaos. Between his Break 50 series with Trump, Brady, etc., and that viral hole-in-one challenge over his glass house that took 16 days to complete, Reebok's betting on golf's main character to disrupt the game. Again.

🐥 Breaking Birdie: From a Par 5

After 111 days, it finally happened. Jake and Ryan, from Bogey Bois, completed Breaking Birdie from a Par 4. The challenge? Both need to make a birdie on the same hole on the same day to complete the challenge. After 111 days, you’d think they’d be all out of gas, right? Nope.

The journey to break birdie on a par 5 starts now ⬇️
