⛳️ Scottie Scheffler wins The Open

Happy Monday. The British Open at Royal Portrush just crowned its unofficial Fan of the Tournament, and he literally dove into the Atlantic Ocean to show his support. With crowds lining the fairways 10-deep all championship long cheering for local hero Rory McIlroy, one passionate fan took things to the next level by plunging into the frigid waters on Sunday with an Open flagstick in one hand and a "Go Rory!" sign in the other. Given the Open's long history of streaking incidents, we should count our lucky stars we only saw this intrepid supporter from the waist up. For his modesty and creative enthusiasm, he easily earns Royal Portrush's Fan of the Week honors—which is saying a lot given the Guinness-fueled madness all tournament long. ⬇️

📰 GOLF STORIES

⛳️ Rory Mcllroy’s bizarre golf moment

Rory McIlroy just created one of the most bizarre moments in golf history during Saturday's third round at Royal Portrush when he accidentally hit two golf balls at the same time. The five-time major champion appeared to have a decent lie in the rough on the par-4 11th, but his ball was resting right on top of another buried ball that nobody could see. When McIlroy made contact, the hidden ball popped up into the air and landed at his feet, leaving the stunned Northern Irishman holding it up for the crowd in disbelief. While there's no penalty for the freak occurrence, his approach shot came up short—likely due to the double contact—and he made bogey on a day when he was trying to charge up the leaderboard. ⬇️

😡 Sergo Garcia crashes out, snaps driver

Sergio Garcia snapped his driver in half after an errant tee shot on the second hole at the British Open, then was forced to play the remaining 16 holes without one because you can't replace clubs broken in anger. The 45-year-old somehow shot his best round of the week despite having no driver, while desperately trying to impress Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald. The most surprising part? How it actually broke. ⬇️

🗣️ Why Scottie Scheffler is so good at trash talk

Jordan Spieth just revealed that World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler might be even better at trash talking than golf, calling his fellow Texan's verbal game "good bullshit" during casual rounds at home. The three-time major champ spent four minutes gushing about Scheffler's wit, saying "you can't really go at him because he's smart." What Scheffler actually says to get under everyone's skin? Spieth won't repeat it. ⬇️
