⛳️ Shot of the Year
Happy Wednesday. With the PGA Championship returning this weekend, ESPN's Jeff Darlington looks back at his unexpected front-row seat to golf's wildest police encounter exactly one year ago. The NFL reporter, making his golf TV debut at Valhalla last May, became the key witness when he recorded World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler being dramatically handcuffed outside the course. Most revealing detail that still shocks viewers? The officer who arrested Scheffler on serious assault charges had zero idea who he'd detained, later approaching Darlington asking, "And who was it that we just arrested?" Now heading to Charlotte as one of ESPN's featured voices this championship weekend, Darlington and Scheffler have a reunion interview planned—a fitting anniversary for golf's most bizarre traffic stop. ⬇️
Here is video that I took of Scheffler being arrested:

Which president has played the most rounds of golf while in office? |
Last Starter: 17% of readers knew that the Arnold Palmer Award is given to the PGA Tour player who earns the most amount of money during a single season. 71% of readers incorrectly guessed “FedEx Cup.” Funny enough, Arnold Palmer is the third highest earning athlete of all time, even though he only made $3.6 million playing golf. Here’s how ⬇️

📰 GOLF STORIES
⛳️ Shot of the Year
Epson Tour pro Laura Wearn just delivered golf's most improbable shot of the year with an opposite-hand eagle that defied all logic. Faced with no stance on the edge of a penalty area, the right-handed player flipped her wedge around and attempted a left-handed chip that should have been disastrous. Instead, she jarred it for eagle, capping off what might be golf's wildest finishing stretch: double, bogey, double, birdie, double, eagle. While Wearn finished T-32 in the tournament won by Sophia Popov, her miraculous shot-of-the-year candidate proves these pros are "really freaking good" regardless of which hand they use. ⬇️
Absolutely ridiculous shot on the @EpsonTour today. Laura Wearn with the flipped over, opposite handed, pitch-in for eagle on them final hole.
Absolutely ridiculous

🤢 John Daly Health Update
Golf legend John Daly delivered a heartbreakingly candid health update following his last-place finish at the Insperity Invitational: "I'm like Lazarus, I keep coming back from the dead. Waking up is a win for me." The 59-year-old's stark admission comes months after emergency hand surgery and amid his ongoing battle with bladder cancer, now in its fourth year of remission. Despite his struggles, Daly refuses to surrender, skipping next week's PGA Championship (which he won in 1991) to play the senior tour's Regions Tradition instead. ⬇️

👑 Trump: “When they give you a putt”
Donald Trump just invoked Sam Snead's putting philosophy to justify accepting a $400 million jumbo jet from Qatar days after his company finalized plans for a luxury golf resort in the Middle Eastern nation. When pressed about ethical concerns surrounding the "Palace in the Sky" aircraft gift, Trump responded with an unexpected golf metaphor: "Sam Snead had a motto: When they give you a putt, you pick up your ball, say 'thank you very much' and walk to the next hole." The administration confirmed the US Air Force will convert the extravagant aircraft to presidential specifications. ⬇️
