⛳️ The Internet Invitational

Happy Monday. Barstool's Internet Invitational arrived with a heartfelt tribute to Cody "Beef" Franke before 48 influencers competed for $1.7 million at Big Cedar Lodge in match play format. Luke Kwon missed his 9:30 a.m. tee time—his second punctuality issue in two days—leaving PFT Commenter to play four holes solo before losing 4&3 and putting Team Bob in an 8-4 hole. A tense cafeteria confrontation between Ryan Whitney and Kwon followed before Jon Gruden rallied the troops. Does seven-figure money undermine YouTube golf's low-stakes charm? ⬇️

📰 GOLF STORIES

⛳️ The easiest birdie ever

Kyle Berkshire drove the legendary Road Hole at St. Andrews' Old Course and made a two-putt birdie, possibly the easiest three ever recorded on the iconic par 4. The Long Drive champion wasn't playing tournament tips at 495 yards but still demolished it from 449, taking an insane line that rolled up to the front edge. The Old Course announced changes ahead of the 2027 Open Championship to defend against modern players, but there's not much to be done when Berkshire gets ahold of one. Unless the Old Course Hotel adds an extension. ⬇️

👀 What Arnold Palmer told Jim Nantz

Jim Nantz shared the impactful advice Arnold Palmer gave him at Augusta National about grief, telling him "your dad made that decision with you" even through Alzheimer's by tapping Nantz's heart saying "he was right here." The CBS legend consoled NFL analyst Kevin Clark after his father's passing, explaining how Palmer's big hands and powerful words helped him realize loved ones guide us long after they're gone. Clark kept the podcast interview because "my dad would want me to keep going." Scott Van Pelt agreed: "The love never goes away." ⬇️

🤔 Another Tiger Woods highlight

Greg Chalmers had the perfect response when the Australian Open posted a Tiger Woods eagle highlight from 2011, tweeting "Really cool shot..wonder how this tournament ended😎" after holding off Tiger's Sunday charge to win. Woods, trying to end his winless drought since the 2009 scandal, shot 67 with a thrilling chip-in but couldn't catch Chalmers, who stayed hot winning the Australian PGA two weeks later. Tiger eventually broke through at the 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational, but back in November 2011, Chalmers was on top of the golf world. ⬇️
